A method that I have used many times and with good effect is simply this. Everytime I see them I visualize them smiling and waving, then turning and leaving and I hold this focus and push energy into it to make the image become the fact. I call this the "Go. Be happy somewhere else" spell.
Spells, no. None that would work. But there are a lot of herbs which many biting insects do not like, and can be used in gardens, simmered in a tea, etc., to use as repellants.
As stated a spell will not repell insects, and there indeed are some herbs which can act as repellents. A few I know of are: lavender, forsythia flower, and lemongrass.
I have had a lot of luck and much relief making a room spray with filtered water, lemongrass oil, and alcohol (rubbing).
The cat has fleas and on the bedding and clothing I have been using the lemongrass room spray. It does repel for quite a while but will wear off in time.
To get it to repel things longer I recommend using a little lemongrass oil in a handmade sachet with soft stuffing material (cotton balls etc).
However if you have pets known for chewing things such as a dog this is better not done. Even if a dog doesn't have a chewing issue and only chews their toys, a sachet such as I suggest could easily be confused with a toy.
To avoid this use of such a sachet in drawers, especially those for clothing, may help.
Please be wary, as lemongrass essential oil is similar to bees as the pheromone emitted by the queen when they're swarming, and may attract them during that time of the year, if any happen to be around.
I usually have had many bees come around me out of doors, though at the time I was not using lemongrass.
I just let them fly into me when they get the idea they want to fly at me, if they hover I don't move at them. I do my best to ignore them when they are close and not flail. A combination of not wanting to hurt the bees and seriously not wanting to be stung.
I was stung once when young and had accidentally stepped on a bee out of doors. The bite swelled quite a bit.
I am not certain but always worried I was allergic. There cane to be a point in time I feared them, but I forced myself to stand still and ignore them and go about my business when they came very close.
That way I am not antagonizing them further by panicking and flailing about.
