Hi all, my grandfather is ill so cast a healing spell. I will say that it was definitely a powerful healing spell and I'm not the most experienced. I carved and lit a red candle and anointed it with holy water and said a chant from one of my books.
About five minutes after I cast it, I felt extremely tired and fatigued. I know that if you aren't properly grounded that this can happen. Do you think the spell still worked? Does this scenario sound about right or do you think it could be something else? Thanks.

I think you're the only one who can truly judge if the spell worked or not as you're the clearest view of the situation. However, spell work is often less about whether or not you had something to do with a situation and more about if you got the end result you wanted.
Physical side effects can happen if you are not used to consciously working with energy in that manner. Simple centering and grounding along with practice over time can get rid of the side effects.
It sounds like something I used to get when I first started. If you don't ground and centre yourself before a spell you are draining your own energy, this makes you feel tired, lethargic and weak. If it happens again have something sweet, it should help a little but you should always try to draw energy from other sources during a spell to prevent this.
The spell could have worked, or it may not have but you definitely drained energy during the casting of the spell.
I hope this helps.
