Brysing, don't transform your "beliefs" as an absolute fact :P

Just because you don't believe something it doesn't mean is not true.

I don't want to say that I believe a god create us,but there are still people who do and is fine to be alright with what you believe then to try to said that what you believe is true.

But man did make god! I have this theory that all ancient gods and even god himself are ancient thoughtforms.

If you don't know what a thoughtform is, it is basically creating an idea and then giving energy to that idea.

Slyspider, what I have stated is a fact! Gods are beliefs, not facts!

I have to say I do agree with Brysing to a certain extent. If you want to believe in a spiritual universe that is all well and good, but different civilisations have interpreted this in different ways, and thus have different Gods.

Man made God in an image which was 1. meaningful to him (sorry for the sexist language, but such is English) 2. Easily identified with.

For example the dying sun god. People used to believe the sun died each day and rose again each morning, they translated this into a myth and composed a deity. From their perspective this is what was happening. Now I am not saying that people who believe in Gods are fooling themselves, far from it! I am simply pointing out Ra did not exist until the Egyptians named him such, in a spiritual specific god-sense.

(That makes sense in my mind, but is difficult to communicate).

What I dislike is when people discard evolution simply because it 'is only a theory'. Well, yes. But it is a theory backed by factual evidence, enough for me to certainly conclude it is true. And the theory of a creation myth is much less supported and therefore less likely to be true.

An interesting fact about evolution, back when we had fish ancestors, we had gills. Certain scientists theorise that these gills slowly evolved and became the three ear bones.....just throwing that in there to share what my geeky self thinks is interesting!

Just remember, the theory of evolution is just a theory.

The first thing to understand when saying that evolution is "only a theory" is that Theory in scientific terms does not mean quite the same thing as theory in general discourse.

A scientific theory is the best scietific explanation of something based on the solid evidence which is available. It isn't a guess or a suposition, it is a scientific expalnation of the known facts. All of the facts that we have uncovered in over 150 years point clearly at the process of evolution.

Well, as a Christian Witch, I believed God created man :). But, I have theorized that God made the big bang and we were formed that way, and were given the ability to revolutionize at a faster pace than other creatures, but that's just one of my thoughts... Cool question, though :)

I believe in it all. God, the Goddess, Jesus, evolution...everything. The world is an amazing place and its ridiculous to me for anyone to believe that all the past present and future... the sky, the birds, the trees, man, women everything was not created purposely by one so far removed from us that the magnificence is incomprehensible to us in flesh.

I've said it many times; but here we go again. You may believe anything you wish; but a belief does not make it true!
If you choose to believe that God created the Earth, and everything in it, then you must accept that He/She created volcanoes, earthquakes. tornados, floods, The Ebola virus, and every other virus. The Tetse fly. The Mosquito. The Black Death. The Hurricanes. The Ice Age.
You cannot pick and choose!
When lightning destroys a building, often killing those inside, it is always claimed that "it was an act of God!". That's some God!
