Dreams

Vosh, in the previous poll thread, made me think of something interesting linked into how we view dreams. So I thought another poll on how we view/experience dreams/dreaming we'll share a bit more about ourselves.

How do you view dreams? Are you a believer in precognitive dreams? Do you feel all dreams are important only to the dreamer? Is it simply psychological? Or can we receive visions? Can gods and spirits visit us in their dreams?

I watch my dreams closely. Every morning when I get up I go through everything that happened in my dreams. I do not believe all dreams are important, in fact I normally believe most are not. About once a week or 2 ill have a strange dream. usually it is very lucid and overall the feel is different. I find that thing in these dreams usually happen though not always as I expect.
Do you feel all dreams are important only to the dreamer - in general no but usually in my case they all seem to involve the dreamer in one way or another.
Is it simply psychological - not at all though I do belief psychology can explain how some dreams present themselves. Our future is always colored by our past.
Can we receive visions - Other than not really liking the term vision (purely for semantic reasons) I believe we can. I view it more of a glimpse into possibilities.
Can gods and spirits visit us in their dreams - short answer yes. long answer I believe it is possible (and have had entities visit me in dreams before) but really depends on how open a person is to outside influences. The stronger the entity in question is the more it can influence our dreams, though I imagine it would take quite an effort to do.

In my way of thinking, I view dreaming as something psychological in most cases of my life, but I have a cousin who seems to have precognitive dreams, so I know they can hold things I just don't experience. I have worked some kinds of magic involving sleep and dreams, mostly to encounter certain beings and to obtain certain information (but I have the habit of forgetting my dreams so it has those days it ends bad for me). I do believe dreams can be important for the dreamer spiritually, and mentally. If one has a recurring nightmares, it denotes anxiety over a certain issue, and so forth. I am firm in the opinion that gods and spirits can visit us in our dreams, if we let them in. This is something I have done to get contact with a spirit guide, and the only reason I think it legit is the same guy kept appearing for several days.

Asetspyre, I would recommend a dream journal if you decide want to get better at remembering your dreams. Basically whenever you wake up just start writing down anything you remember. if you do this for a while you should notice that eventually you can write down more and more information. Its just a way of training your mind to remember the details of a dream. Just a suggestion if you are interested :)

I view dreams in multiple ways; they can be precognitive, they can be important only to the dreamer, they can be simply psychological, they can be visions (or images of importance), and gods and spirits can visit us in their dreams. I think that what a dream is depends greatly on the dreamer and their circumstances. Some folks may only have precognitive dreams, while others never have one once in their life. I think most folks get mostly psychological stuff though and that the more involved spiritually you are, the more spiritual sorts you will get.

I actually tell my boyfriend (through text or by speaking to him) what my dream was, it helps me to remember it better than remembering to write it down.

to me some dreams are simply dreams, some are visions and some is astral projection happening in your sleep. For me there are ways of knowing if its astral projection or simply a dream. Because your able to use all five senses when you astral project this happens because it is your actual spirit temporarily leaving your body. visions are logical and dreams are usually those random things that don't make a lick of since (again this is just my point of view). Dreams are extremely impirtant to me in fact I met my fiance on the Astral plane before I even knew his face in the real world.

Meeting people in dreams (or spirits in my case) is rather curious personally.

Very interesting, very beautiful, very powerful dream.

My gods (all of them) like to talk to me in dreams because that is when I'm most open.
