Hello,

Cooking?

If I recall in all truthes. I was told in certain city-states of Rome. They believed burning Thyme would repel scorpions [] Superstion/Myth [] .

You can make an infusion for chest infections,stomach chills, or irrtable bowel. Also gargle the infusion for sore Throat.

::NOTE::

Do not use Thyme for therapeuticdose of thyme or oil in any form in pregnancy because the herb is a uterine stimulant.

Also Thyme oil can irritate the mucous membranes, so ALWAYS dilute well.

Thyme (Thymus vulgares) has a great many uses. It is traditionally use for most any type of illness because of it's antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. I would recommend getting the book 20,000 Secrets of Tea by Victoria Zak. It has a lot of great information on the herbs as well as an index to find what herbs are used for what ailments. It is available as either an e-book or a paperback. Here is an article that has a brief introduction on thyme as well as a couple other herbs: http://jacope.hubpages.com/_herbs/hub/ParsleySageRosemaryandThyme
