Welcome to the path.
If you wish to start out with magic, you have to gain some knowledge about it, or at least about it's simplest form. This form of magic is called "the basics", but I call it "direct magic".
Here's a recommended link for starters (written and published by a member under the name Starrie):

Trust me, after gaining some knowledge about such thing - you will be able to cast your spells freely :)
And now about the "fun" part. Indeed, sometimes spells, rituals, and rites need to be fun. As witches it is our duty not to get too bored when performing magic ;). I do find it as fun sometimes, for examples:
Practices like dancing have been part of rituals, spells, and rites for as long as magic has been practiced ( I guess that you can call this fun). When dancing it is often seen women wearing anklets and such for the shear joy of the beauty in its nature. Adding bells to your clothes is also common and is not only seen as a good way to invoke a spiritual entity but the sound is amazing when dancing around a bonfire when practicing an annual rite.
For another example, some deities present entertainment, so it only makes sense to do something entertaining for one's god. For example the musical instruments being used or even actual props being used in a play/performance to literally entertain a specific deity.
But I take magic seriously, so I do not cast my spells or rituals only for fun, but i find performing some forms of magic as very enjoyable ! I know that it has not been asked here, but some people mentioned something about having fun with your rituals and personal spells.
