I've searched "offerings to gods and goddesses" on google, and searched similar terms throughout the internet and this website, and I've found what to offer, and to whom. However, I could not find how to offer. Do you just place the offering on your altar? If so, when do you remove it? (I assume it's removed eventually, as some deities often receive food as offerings). Thank you, and blessed be!

I do not think there is a right or wrong answer to this, so do what comes natural to you. Personally I would send out a "prayer" in their name and state that this was an offering for them. I burn my offerings, unless they are food. When it is food I like to do the offering outside on a makeshift altar.

Depending on the deity depends on when and what sort of ritual should accompany the offering. No, I don't personally believe placing a plate of food or a glass out on your altar with a "hey, here you go" will suffice. An offering should be done with sincere honor, respect, and effort. So a ritual honoring the higher being should be surrounding the act of offering.
