If only evereyone could fight back. Iv dreamt a few times of physically fighting them. (like with a sword and shield and I had beutiful angle wings) but I'd always fall. I wish I could slay all the wicked things as I have in my dreams and rid the world of their foul taint. But we can't. All we can do is spiritually keep them at bay.

I had a demon stalk me as well. I always felt its presence. Then one day I was meditating and the demon was staring right at me directly in front of me. I asked what it wanted and the demon pointed at my chest and moved closer to my face and said "I want your soul".
Another time I astral projected to see a friend of mine and when I got to her there was a demon watching her sleep. It acknowledged my presence and ran (more like glided sort of) over to me and grabbed me by the throat and said "you better get the **** away! She's mine now!"

Real possessions are far less common than you would think. You can thank Hollywood for giving us the fancy version that most people associate with possession/exorcisms. In my life, theres only been one person whom I actually believed to be possessed.
Sometimes there are masked mental illnesses that people are quick to mark up to possession. Some people who claim to be possessed may just need some sort of help, whether it's a friend to comfort them or a doctor to provide medical treatment.
Demons aren't all out to steal your "soul" and try to fight you. They arent all inherently evil. I can't stress that enough. If you spend some time studying demons, the origins of the word, etc, it might change your viewpoint on a few things.
For those who have been possessed, believe they have been possessed or experienced something of the sort, I extend a sympathetic hand. I can only begin to imagine how that must effect them, their friends and family, etc.But I do wish we weren't so quick to lay blame.

I have done my fair share of studies on demons. I've done share of studies since I had my first experience with a ghost as a young child. There are more demons in this world than you care to admit. And more demons out there who are determined to inflict pain one way or another. There are more possessions than you realize. Not all possessions are recorded, documented, told, witnessed, etc. Not every one recognized a possession. People are quicker to claim possessions out to be schizophrenia, bipolar, split personality disorder than you realize or probably care to admit. I must admit that not every demon is always going to be hurting some one. But it is part of their nature to hurt. I've even had demons demons who where my spiritual guardians. They wouldn't hurt me but if any thing got too close they were not to get defensive.
You can go ahead and I need to study demonology more all day long. That's fine. I've done my studies since I was a young child and years later I still do my studies. I know what I am talking about.

My post wasn't directed to you, Vanity, if you took it that way. I was not suggesting you were wrong or that you need to study more. It was a broad and open-ended statement I made, intended for readers who come to this thread to pause for a moment and think upon. However, in lieu of that, let me provide some sources:

Here's two interesting articles, talking about the history of demonic possession as well as psychology today and modern views on the matter:

http://www.enspirepress.com/writings_on_consciousness/spirit_possession_exorcism/spirit_possession_exorcism.html

http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1703

Here's a long forum post from SoM that covers several aspects:

http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=324824

And here is a piece of the catholic encyclopedia, pertaining to possession:

http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/12315a.htm

I do not think any of the links I provided deny the possibility of possession or demons. In fact, many (such as the catholic encyclopedia, heavily believe in it). People have differing views on demons and demonic possession. I was simply sharing my belief: that yes there are possessions, but they are not always the root of something.

I think it is plausible that possessions may have been mistaken for mental illness and vice versa. As noted in the medical article, many of the symptoms are parrallel between the two. It would be easy to make a mistake. I'm not doubting that at all. Neither do I doubt that there are demons will ill-intent. I am sure there are. However, like I said, I do not believe them to all be as such. Nor do I think it is necessarily in their nature. It comes down to personal beliefs and religious associations, I suppose. While some would view all demons as evil entities, I tend to view them as spirits, each as an individual with a capacity for either "right" or "wrong", "good" or "evil", if you want to use those terms.

When it comes to possession, like I said, I do extend a sympathetic hand. From accounts I've read or heard of, it can be quite disasterous. I sympathize with individuals who have experienced it, whether first hand or through a loved one. I imagine it would be hard to cope with, possibly difficult to move on from and forget. I don't doubt that it happens. And I feel for those whom it happens to.

Oh no. I understand you weren't directing that at me. I was responding openly yet letting you know more as to my experiences and where what I know comes from.

My true form has tons of natural power and could probably crush a demon on the astral plains.
