Though, to see Death isn't a sign of the passing of someone close to you or yourself, in fact this is hardly ever the case, as I said before. Like any spirit it may appear for what ever reason.

Life and death are closely connected. We cannot embrace life and not death or we become inbalanced. Deaths occur within our lives continuously. Death comes in many forms, it is injury, illness, all endings, the end of life, and the end of cycles in our life. Death is not "dark" it is actually very pure. We only sense it as dark when we perceive it with fear and foreboding. When we cannot accept change, death is a very scary thing. Therefore it appears "dark" due to our perceptions of it.

Death is not soley associated with the spiritual as some may think. If it were, it wouldn't be ever present in our physical lives. It is the inbetween, the transition. It is present in both the physical and spiritual. Life is prominent on both the physical and spiritual side. And life and death are apart of each other, like yin and yang. There cannot be death without life, nor life without death. Disease is just as alive as the host it dwells within. We kill it in order to gain back our health. Does this at all seem dark to you?

In order to become fully connected with the spiritual world and physical (inbetween the worlds) many cultures believe we must experience death without letting go of our physical bodies. This creates the connection to both worlds by using death as a doorway.

Yes, that's all good and well and all but the Death energy is a Dark energy, but like I said doesn't make it "dark" as in evil or what have you. You are correct in that the source or force of Death goes beyond Light and Dark, in hand with the force of Life. They are more than metaphors or our relation to the universe, and together they are the keys to the force beyond and within all.

Philosophy is a search for truth in regards to life, existence, and morality. Why isn't it applicable? Are you telling me there is some scientific evidence of death energy? Ha! What do you think is the basis of all magick? Philosophy and myth. It takes a simple mind to read a book, but it takes intelligence to philosophize about a topic. Can you debate me? I would love it if you did. =)

Give me these "facts". How is death dark? I just explained why it isn't. Just saying "death is dark" doesn't cause it to be so. No where in magick is death assumed to be dark. There is even an "angel" of death in Revelations sent by the Christian god. There is destruction, creation and preservation in life. Nothing more. "Holy" and "evil" are not classical pagan terms. Nor truly is dark or light referring to negative and positive. These became most popular in "neopagan" belief due to Christianity which has only been around for 2,000 years. Even Christianity accepts death openly because they feel it will free them from this life and let them enter heaven. Every belief views death, not as dark, but as an inevidable end of life, that only the most special are directly ascended by their Divine, therefore they skip death's need to come. All religions view death as a transition. And the energy of it is no different. Facts enough?

No the difference is experience. Pholosophy is basically "theory" as where experience is "practice", and they don't match up just because you think it sounds right. The universe was formed and is run by forces far beyond us and assuming what ever philosophical rationale seems correct is wrong. The only way we can truely know the matters of spiritualism is through experience and direct study, compared to direct knowledge theory is useless. The point is not to try to figure it out, its to find out. I know Death energy is dark because I have felt it and been apart of it, the same way I learner about the Life force, and yes while they are connected they are also seperated by the same line.
Basically, I really don't care about thoughts and ideas as compared to knowledge, so unless you've seen the universe and divined it's information I don't see any use for the ideas of what it might be.

"Dark" is just a word. It is just a description. It is the impression that the energy left you with. Someone else might well experience it as "light." Or "rainbowlicious." Arguing that something IS dark because you have experienced it as dark is just as much philosophy as any other such statement.

The same argument might be made between two people who perceive the color green - there is no way to be certain that the actual color experienced is the exact same thing. Both people perceive the wavelength consistently, both people see it as green, but green may well be a very different visual experience for each individual. It is still green, regardless of the experience.

So who cares if death energy is "dark?" Does it begin to matter what single word you choose to describe? Frankly, dark doesn't describe it all that much in general.

You are looking for a perception that steps away from a human perspective among those who are rooted within the human perspective. If you wish to experience something separately, you must isolate yourself from that experience and consider it as deeply as possible without said influence.

You missed Rav3n's point I think. In examining a single facet of energy to great depth you remove yourself from examining its interaction with all other aspects of the whole. Death is as much a part of the cycle as life. If there is no life there can be no death. Death in exchange provides a necessary function for the sustenance of life. Cyclical, practical, and necessary for the function of all things. It is not just philosophy, it is the way of things.

On a particle level, neurons, electrons, protons, etc. all shift and interact. One atom, one particle, one molecule, whatever... It "dies" as its various components shift and become something else. In that moment, there may be a nuclear explosion. In that moment there are vast numbers of things that might be observed exploring the way things work, and the way things function. But without knowing the other things that moment impacts all you have is just the moment. The moment by itself is useless.

Explore all you care to, examine and understand in depth. But when it comes down to it, you need to see how that thing you are studying impacts the environment around it or you will never fully fathom the function and existence in that moment. Thus to understand death we must also understand life in a very practical way.

Or we can just say "death energy is dark energy" as if that means anything to anybody but us, and get nowhere.

I only mean to get away from the semantics and theory of the matter and instead discuss its practical uses and or experiences and what not. Words are just words and I mean to use them to convey their relation to another. Yeah, death is a part of life and vice versa but as I want to discuss the force and energy of death and it's uses like I originally said.

You said a lot of stuff originally. Not much was practical. None of it was clear with any real intent, point, or desire, seeming mostly aimless musing. And then you turned wretched on a post that was intentionally trying to explore death energy through its interaction with life.

Through understanding this, we can understand the practical applications of death energy.

We could, for example, run with that idea and examine how death energy can be used to manifest change. Killing bad habits. Killing cycles that we wish to end so that another can begin atop them (a new path through life, a new stage of your life, etc). We can examine how death energy can be used to heal, by "killing" emotional baggage, the residual effect of trauma, and numerous other such applications. All of which can be observed and understood through examining the interaction between death and life.

Further, in examining this we can begin to understand the source of the energy. That moment of impact between polar extremes that gives off a sensation that might be referred to as "dark," or death, or simply change. It is fleeting, and therefore difficult to describe and even more difficult to pin down. However it is in this impact it is born. Like two particles colliding, "dying," and thus becoming part of a newly formed molecule, or a more stereotypical (and prolonged) metaphor that discusses a fallen tree giving life to the forest. The energy is born of that moment.

But that's not what you were looking to explore, I guess. Too philosophical, and impractical. :P haha
