Hi there, kinda rubbish at intro threads lol. Hope to learn something whilst i'm here. I've een practising agic for 16 years now and i hail from the uk
Hi LadyO, You say you've been practising magic for 16 yrs. Have you been solitary, or following a specific path of wicca? I have mostly been solitary, and only recently have chosen to study Celtic and Correllian Wicca (Correllian because it was online and easily accessible, and Celtic because I have a dear friend who is Celtic and her path feels comfortable to me).
I've been mostly solitary, but i did joi a coven about 10 years ago and let me say never again. Currently a student of the occult, kabbala. I started off at pure pagan roots, simple spells charms ect, but as i got older and i developed my knowlege and practise of magic i started to look at higher magic and this is where i currently am.
Currently making preperations to do a goetic evocation of the spirits which is really tking a lot of time and care and am focusing mainly on that. I enoy astral work and working with crystals and herbs.
I would like to go back to group work as some stunning results can be obtain especially in matters of invocation.
I too have mostly been solitary, although recently a neighbor has been piquing my interest by dragging me to meetups in the Portland, Oregon area. I recently attended a Maypole festival which ended up being only for children, since the adult group didn't make sure they even had a May pole, let alone had anything in place to make it work.
But then I was delightfully struck by the energy those little ones brought with them, and that I was priveleged to partake in (since I got to help my 3-year-old granddaughter throughout it, both as they cast the circle and did the Maypole dance). I haven't got the dedication that my neighbor has, in seeking out new groups, so instead I've gone to meetups that she first has found enjoyable. Takes a lot of the legwork out, and so far I admit that there's much to be said for both group energy and the ease of learning. So I will no doubt at least participate in groups occasionally. I can certainly see that I've benefitted from it!
