The rule of three? Karma?

Yes and no. If you do something it's going to effect something else. It's more of a ripple effect rather than a cosmic smack down. The powers that be are far too busy doing other things to worry about what someone does in the right now. Eventually it does catch up with you but not in the way people might think. Again this is all opinion.

Yeah, I've read about the ouroboros-- I used to be gnostic. I always saw it as the circle of life, and my dictionary says it means infinity. I've never read about it being related to karma. I just searched for that, but it sounds like a somewhat modern addition to me. (Wikipedia says middle ages) The ouroboros has been traced back to 1600 BCE, Ancient Egypt. I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced.

They go back further to be honest but it is a cycle. but just my take on it

Umm no I use the term "powers that be" so i don't offend anyone. And it's more than physics. It's not a physical law. So think bigger. Karma exists but not in the way you think it does or should.

I honestly have a difficult time imagining karma, let alone physics. XD Though, Through the Wormhole (narrated by Morgan Freeman) is pretty addicting.

The rule of three has been "explained" many times over the centuries. "Judge not, lest you be judged", or "You will reap what you sow", or even the more modern,"What goes around comes around.". Sometimes the effects are much more than "three times as strong"!

Here's the thing about this "law" you don't have to believe in it. and the reason being is that It's a man made concept not so much universal. The universal idea of karma is you can do as you see fit but always remember for everything you do there's a consequence. Not necessarily a cosmic police man waiting to write you a ticket because you messed and it's a heavy fine. Doesn't quite work that way. Again this is all in theory doesn't make it set in stone however on the broader scope karma is cause and effect and not a policing of our actions.
