I'm never one to really write things down, but I know a Book of Shadows is essential to every practicioner. I also has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so I like to keep things neat. However, I'm not so sure on how I am supposed to organize my Book of Shadows.
So share some tips about how YOU organize your Book of Shadows! How would your Table of Contents go? How could you space it between the different sections?
Personally,I seperate the spells or rituals,by type, protection,Healing, and so on,Then I have the date I wrote the spell or got it from somone else,(mostly I write my own or at least adapt others to meet my needs)..I have the date it was used, wether or not it was successfull, any items that may be needed and any changes I may want to make.
I have started writing down a book of shadows 3 montchs ago and so far I have organized it by how much I have advanced in magick and steps in performing it starting with the basics of magick........and then added spells as I advanced
I'm yet to make one myself, but Im definately going to get a 3-ring binder. Fill out the pages and then just take them out and order them as you see fit. Once you have it set, transfer it into a big fancy notebook or something, lol, or keep building.
Nordk: I like your organization! However, I was wondering on how you would like format all of your writing... not so much as where you're put it... more like, how you would write it down. :)
Obsidian_Sun: I like the binder idea. I'm definately going ot to buy a binder. :)
i seperate mine into ritual's and spells. then seperate each into the different types. then i put them in alphabetical order. then i do ingriedients. then i put the date, day of the week i got it on.then lunar cycle it works best with, which sign it is, which element it is, and then any changes i make to it. of course all of that goes in numerical and alaphabetical order too.
