Eye color/magic

Hello everyone. For my first original post I thought perhaps I'd talk about something people may or may not have noticed about magic users. Our eye color can actually reflect our abilities.

Whoa, don't leave. This is actually historically documented. Robert Graves mentions something about this in his book The White Goddess. I don't remember the exact page (forgive me all scientific magic users out there for my terrible reference format), but he speaks about a group of people discovered in Cornwall that were documented as having a few strange traits in common. These people all displayed remarkable prophetic ability, in addition to a tendency toward seizures and raving. The other trait they all shared was eye color. Every one of them had gold in their eyes.

Greek myth says that those born with gold eyes were descended from Helios(or Apollo, accounts vary). The enchantress Circe had them, so did Medea. Both women were powerful magic users with the gift of prophecy. Another famous prophetess with golden eyes was the Trojan princess Cassandra who foretold the fall of her kingdom...foretold it and by some accounts escaped and after a long journey ended up in, you guessed it, Cornwall.

Now my own observations have found that people with gold eyes, even if it's just a fleck or two, have uncanny ways of knowing what will happen in the future. The gift is dilute enough in most of the people I've met that I wouldn't call it true prophecy, still it is interesting no?

Now for the other colors. Personally I have also discovered a strong link between people with green in their eyes and telepathy. Maybe that's why green eyes are so uncommon, telepathy is a rare gift. I don't have any historical information on this, but it is repeated quite a bit in fiction (look up Daniel Keys Moran's book Emerald Eyes if you can find it, good book about telepaths).

Still more colors related to specific gifts. I have found that people with gray in their eyes tend to be very strong mediums and channels for otherworldly entities. The darker the gray, the darker the entities they attract. When I say dark here I'm talking literal color of energy not anything to do with ethics.

I am interested to hear what you all have to say about this. Even if you think it's a load, I happily accept that. Please just do me the favor of telling me why you think I'm wrong if you do. Otherwise I'd love to hear if anyone else has noticed any other eye color tendencies related to magic use.

this is very interesting, and i will have to do more research on this subject. just as a thought maybe we can upload a photo of our eye and give a short summary of our natural magical inclinations? a sort of coven experiment if you will.

i have uploaded a picture of my eye although it isn't as clear as i would like.

i have been inclined towards the occult and magical side of reality for all my life. in fact having my natal chart cast i discovered many astrologically implicated tendencies towards the occult.

some things i would say i have been blessed with is extremely potent powers of visualization and observation, as well as a keen eye for linking symbolism along a matrix of differing paths. i find parallels everywhere, the strongest of which being between physics and hermetics.

i also have a powerful sense of resonate empathy.(granted this is all self professed and i feel quite silly "claiming powers", but as the nature of this post i feel like it is relevant)i harmonize with people very quickly and most find it very difficult to get angry with or dislike me. i also tend to soak up peoples negative emotions much faster and deeper than their positive. i think this is due to the resonate nature of my empathic sense; i feel a link or harmony with a person and naturally feel compassion and the need to alleviate their feelings of a negative nature. this also has led me to be able to give relevant advice and function with a "read between the lines" understanding of my conversations with people. i don't advertise or claim to be naturally capable of dream interpretation, although if i am in physical proximity to a person explaining a dream i pick up a feel for the meaning of it more by what they choose to say and how they say it than the content of the actual dream.

as you can see my eyes are a blueish hazel, with a gold ring around the middle. when upset or otherwise emotionally aroused this ring expands and completely changes my eye color to blue green.

so, in conclusion, although i don't know anything about this subject i have always intuitively felt a connection to my understanding of my self and my unique eyes.

this is a very interesting post i mean i had my weird and odd experiences with the color and shape of my eyes pupil my eyes are naturally a dark brown but it some weird cases they have changed color all the way to green hazel!! which threw me off and my friend as well i would like to learn more about this =] ] it seems very interesting and catches my attention also i had captured in pictures when the pupil of my eyes have slit into wat appears to be cat eyes but ive only captured that in pictures so yeah....anyways tnx for this thread really informative =] ]

I took a picture, it's up. As you can see I have quite a few colors in my eyes. I have a central ring of coppery brown, flecked with dark brown/black. There's a sizeable ring of gold, then light green and finally a weird blue-silver. If you look closely you'll also see a few flecks of deep red and a few flecks of white. I also should note that my eyes turn very green when I am upset.

As for what I can do, I do have a touch of prophetic ability. I am also pretty good at most types of divination. I suspect they have to do with your prophetic ability. I do all sorts of magic. I have had quite a bit of luck with it when I've tried to do things. I mostly specialize in defensive countermagic. I suspect that's more of a necessity than anything else.

I notice that when I use the small amount of telepathy I do have, my eyes turn green. The light green from the ring around the gold creeps into the light brown center and while they aren't any less gold in the middle, they kinda turn all greenish hazel. I say small amount because my telepathic ability is very limited. I have actually discovered that I am more telepathic when my eyes are green. I am also a good channel and yes my eyes do look grayer when I am doing so.

This was one of the observations prompting me to look into the matter in the first place. I would love to see other peoples colors and hear about their specialties. I think we can all assume we'll be honest about what we can/can't do within the coven.

your camera is much better than mine israfel, i wish more detail was apparent, but the similarity of our eyes turning green when emotions are stirred as well as the connection to the intuitive nature of the abilities is interesting. but you do have very unique eyes. this is a very intriguing post and i hope more follow through with posting their eyes.

By the way Night, I have found that sometimes when someone manifests an animal look in photos it is because they have some kind of animal totem. Photography can catch our auras, why wouldn't it show signs of some animal connection in those that have them?

I can see what you mean in the closeups where your eye color is visible. Do you have any cat like personality traits?

Found this post very intresting my eyes are blue with a black outer circle...as for abilities i am also an empath and tend to pick up on peoples feelings and emotions and can pick up other empaths with ease..i can usually delve into a person and read them pretty well and go on the feelings i get from them...i am also a seer of sorts i have waking visions more so when i need to warn my loved one's or someone i hold dear of any dangers..yes sometimes my gifts are completely out of the blue and the visions pop up without warning and sometimes being an empath is very hard ...but i am blessed with my gifts and am very grateful for them..i am also very perceptive to other peoples energy..but i have now had to start shielding from this again due to the fact i became very overwhelmed to the point of being physically sick when the energies were being what i can only describe as rushed at me.
