I would usually say "banishing", except I recently read the accounts of a group of psychics who don't believe in banishing-- one does not exorcise a spirit, they say, it's the spirit that eventually decides to exorcise itself out of boredom or exasperation. You can exasperate it, of course, by flooding the space with your aura or sprinkling water (if you're a water sign; fire signs can visualize a violet flame cleansing everything around them; earth signs "ground" and bury the ghost; air signs can blow them away)-- smothering it with cleansing incense like white sage, and ringing bells to scatter positive energy. Chaotes can banish by laughing at it. If you have a patron deity you can pray for that presence to help you.
A banished spirit, however, can return with a vengeance if the banishing wasn't effective. Negotiating for a peaceful coexistence is slower but more effective in the long run (if it's been more than pesky, though, I guess you should do the above and bury protective witch bottles around your space or something so it doesn't come back.) Hope this helps.
an abusive and irritating boyfriend? Could anyone recommend a spell that I could use to get rid of my daughter's stupid boyfriend? I want to do the spell myself b/c nobody in my family knows that I'm trying to do spells plus if I recommend that she do the spell it may scare her. Thanx
Burning a purple candle in this spell indicates your power over the target (person you are ridding) However a black devil candle may be used if you prefer.
Write the name of whom you wish to banish on a square brown paper.
Cover the name with your own, effectively crossing out the first name.
Chant:
I cover you, I cross you
I command you, I compel you (name), Child of (name)Get out of my house now. (or leave my daughter alone)
Dress the purple candle with banishing oil.
Place the paper on a dish, beneath the purple candle.
Burn candle until gone.
