Story of Love and Life

It's a calm warm day in summer. The animals of the forest are casually grazing on the lush green green, flowers and bushes. It's Summer and everything is in bloom. A cool stream snakes it's way through the forest. Along it's banks are a multitude of small, water washed pebbles that look like stare on the edge of the Milky Way, only these stars have a mossy green backdrop. On one of the banks stands a mighty stag. His beautifully light tan and grey accents only adding to his majesty. as he lowers his heavy head of antlers, hooves give way to hands and feet, thick stocky body covered in the tan fur gives way to hairless pink flesh. His long strong neck shrinks leaving the face of a man. The only thing left was the antlers. He scoops up the water as he kneels and quenches his thirst.

This is the father of the forest, the god of these lands. He holds all the knowledge of the plants, the animals, and even where the streams are. He's a skilled hunter who is full of courage but remains respectful, vigilant, and protective of his domain.

In a small clearing not far away is a young mother who's belly is growing heavy with child. Her long golden hair hangs around her face as she kneels to harvest the berries and other herbs of the forest from around the tree line. She never forgets to pay her respects for the plants sacrifice as she goes along.

This is the mother, the giver of life and sustainer of the universe. She is the nurturer of life, infinitely loving and compassionate to all thing. Always nursing and attending to all the things in her domain.

She places each herb and berry in a twisted basket made of fresh vines. She takes them all to the middle of the clearing where a small fire is burning and there is a cauldron for two hanging over it, it's contents bubbling quietly. She sorts the herbs and then the berries and slowly adds them to cauldron and it's bubbling stock within. As she stirs her brew, she rubs the slowly growing belly of hers and hums the melody of nature. She sings the song of peace, of harmony, and of the love she has for all the beauty of life she is surrounded with.

there is a calm rustling in the tree line that grabs her attention. She smiles as her lover comes through the underbrush, minding where he steps. He has returned with meat for the cauldron. Together they respectfully give thanks to the animal for it's sacrifice and go to using all the different parts, leaving nothing to go to waste.

As the young goddess adds in the meat and once more begins to stir she watches the ripples being made and begins to think back when she was just a young maiden. She remembers the joy of her frolicking with her young hero and all the potential, creativity and bountiful lust for knowledge that spawned from her curiosity. She smiles as the memories flood through of her determination, confidence, and her sense of knowledge of the lands as she shared these characteristics with her eager young lord.

Her consort chops another piece of meat and hands it to her as he smiles at her. She begins to sing again as she takes the meat and adds it to the cauldron. She knows that as time passes her consort will soon pass away, and she will grow old, having to dawn her veil and robes of the crone. She will rejoice when he is reborn in the spring, and knows that her youthfulness will return and they will start anew.

As the crone she will be known as the understander of death, life and rebirth. She will understand the need for transformation, of not only the physical but of the spiritual as well. She will be the keeper of knowledge to pass it on to all those she encounters, and though she will be physically weak, spiritually she will soar to new heights. Always observant, she will be the counselor to the ill, and those who are troubled.

Now though she enjoys the summer with her lover. Taking in and embracing the warmth of the sun, and warm evenings under the moonlight. She lives in the moment, and takes everything in stride.

Note: The Tipple Goddess and aspects of the God are signs of how life changes and is always in motion. Every moment is precious so Live your life in the moment, Laugh when you can to fill your soul with joy, and Love with all your being, showing it to all who cross your path.

My main goal for later in life is to write a bunch of short stories like these for kids so pagan parents can begin teaching at a young age. When the kids hit their teenage years and wish to learn more indepth forms, then they will already have some of the basic concepts down.
