samhain question

well it says on a forum post tht samhain in when the veil from the dead world,or something,is lifted and spirits travel to this world to summerland....and it says apples were buried to provide for spirits' who family members could not provide for them.....well ive tricked my parents into letting me put some apples leading from the road to our house.....but it says they have to be buried....so do they HAVE to be buried? cuz tht would look too suspicious.....and do i have to put my grandmother's name on them? cuz i dont want any other spirits coming....and also,does the protection barriers in my house have to be lifted? -thanks-

ok what I'm about to say might not be very useful to the questions you just asked, just some information on Samhain but I still hope this helps in a way

The holiday we know as Halloween is pretty much another name for Samhain a pagan holiday that comes every once a year........ you probably know this already. Lots of things like pumpkin carving etc. apple bobbing comes from Samhain. Samhain is harvest holiday but also a day to remember and honor the dead. A way you can celebrate this day is by having a dinner feast but include the person/people you are remembering so put out a plate of food for them, include them in dinner conversation and things like that. You asked if you should put up a protection barrier, leave that to the jack o' lantern, traditionally they would have carved scary faces in turnips than put candles in to scare away evil spirits but I think pumpkins would be easier and less suspicious. As for burying the apples..... I'm pretty sure you don't have to, leave some outside your house.

apples are also the fruit of knowledge and have a pentacle in the centre so if your leaving a trail of apples at the end leave to halves exactly cut from top to bottom this will aid in turning away evil.

burning white sage is very well known to repel negative energies.

thanks tht was great.just one more question.ok i might eat at the table by myself,but either way my parents are goin to be around.so to prevent suspiciousness can i leave the food in the refrigerater wit my granmothers name on a small peice of paper under the plate?

I'm not sure about leaving it in the refrigerator.......
anywhere else you can put it?

why dont you carve your grandmothers name on a white candle and just leave a small cake or something in front of it just dont eat it afterwards
