That's funny, my step daughter was very hyper, adhd hyper. I couldn't stand being around her. Her energy was hell for me to be around. It's also funny, I think I release nervous energy on people accidentally sometimes. Years ago, my friend Thomas out of the blue turns around and said I was making him nervous. But I wasn't nervous at all, I was calm. So I couldn't understand how a calm person could make him nervous.

I hate psychopaths the most. Too many manipulators in the world.

Wow! This is the first time I've read something that truly describes what an empath/clairsentient is. Nice post. Too bad the poster deleted or was deleted. :/

I would like to add that science is learning how it works. They found that everyone's brain mimics what it sees as if the person is experiencing it themselves. Pain for pain, sadness for sadness. This is why a smile is contagious! Empaths in the spiritual sense are merely utilizing this natural mechanism on a deeper level because they also have the ability to sense energy/spirit.

Here is what I don't get why is it some people get so mad thinking the use of some peoples empathy is "special"? The singing analogy is a great one. The skill to use empathy is always just under the surface but everyone can not use it because their mind does not allow it. It is a tool that is useful in other gifts. And it is special. People are guarded in this time and age and it seems so few are honest with even themselves about how they feel. There are clinical clues to figure this out but empathy goes deeper than that. Empaths have a natural skill of picking up on changes and energies given out naturally by each person. And I think the skilled empath can use this as a stepping stone to develop other gifts they may naturally have.

I entirely agree with you. Perhaps it is because we are both Ravens. :D

Yes Ravens are quite wise lol. Its a great debate although I think some are being a little undermining perhaps because empathy is something not received in their life. Its all a matter of perception

I have finally realized that my empathy for others is considered a gift. I work with people that have been victimized. Im a crime victim advocate. As a child, and for many of my adult years I was victimized. I always knew when I looked at someone, I could "sense" their emotions. I just figured I was really good at recognizing what I was familiar with. There has always been signs, but I blew them off because I thought I was a bit crazy. It's taken me a long time to accept it for what it is. I can honestly say that I have a very good success rate working with victims. I always knew there was a reason for everything, and now I am wanting to embrace it.

I have heard that it can be hard sometimes to close out others emotions. I was told that if you carry a penny with you it helps you to keep off the negative emotions, however, I have tried this and it seems to help greatly in not letting others emotions overcome me. Has anyone else ever heard the same about carrying a penny?
