no.all of it is generally a bad idea unless u refer to 15th or 16th century accounts in which cases most parts of the craft were given the unfortunate title of necromancy mostly due to the fact that alot of it dealt with simple summoning of them or speaking with them.but then again what else can u really expect from the hypocritical catholic,s.o.b.'s.

i know this for a fact as i have a book on it.

Yes, because no book could possibly ever hold a lie, right?
(don't look in the fantasy section, cuz' it will really mess you up)

Necromancy can be learned in Spirit Seers. I haven't seen much from the Necronomicon or whatever it's called that I would call accurate. However, my advice is assuming anyone is looking to learn traditional necromancy not that stereotypical "raise zombies and skeletons" crap.

Necromancy is the art of divination by use of the dead. Traditional necromancy is any form of communicating with a spirit, generally for some type of information.

It is, but there are three general requirements.

1) The body must be in livable condition, otherwise your patient will just die again and possibly experience a slight of pain from whatever it is that caused the death.

2) The spirit must be willing to be revived and thus can't have moved on to far, otherwise your patient will have no brain activity and would essentially be a vegetable(confined to a bed and living thanks to machinery).

3) You must have an excess of energy, the rebinding of the soul into the body will take some of your energy and if you do not have enough to support the process you will be left drained or worse.

Some people do have enough energy to repair the body, locate and draw back the spirit(usually after convincing it to agree or letting it know you can help), and rebind the soul all at one time, but most people don't and that's probably why revivals like this are so rare.

I believe a member by the username of Micah has more experience on this, having revived several creatures himself. I've only successfully revived a few things, only one of which lived long after.

There are a few good sites if you google "traditional" necromancy, rather then just necromancy. So many games, books, movies, and other entertainment sources use necromancy as a villainous "dark art" that it's hard to find facts, but they are out there. You just have to know where to look. You could also try other key words such as "spirits," "communication," or drop "necromancy" entirely and instead use the English translation, "divination by the dead" or "divination by use of the dead."
