MEDITATION - is a way to reprogram our thinking. The mind is consisted of what? It's just a collection of all kinds of information, bad and good. It is just like a computer, whatever you program it, and when you push the button, it comes out the same, right? So the same thing with our brain. It would be empty; it would be absolutely blank, just like a brand new computer, until we start to record things and information, and sometimes good, sometimes bad. If we happen to record the good information and when we want to make use of it, then the good information comes out. If we happen to record the bad information, then of course the bad information comes
out.
Why learn to meditate?
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful, we will be free from mental discomfort and prepare ourselves for the next step in magick.
----------------------------
VISUALIZATION - This subject consists of the practice of creating images of your goal in the mind. In magic, the mind is a very powerful tool in forming energy. Positive and negative thinking is an example of this. Visualization gives the power its purpose. Most people visualize every day. Rather than recalling the past, we create images of things that we have not seen or experienced.
A Simple Exercise for Visualization:
First, think of something you would like. It might be an object you would like to have, an event you would like to happen, a situation in which you'd like to find yourself, or some circumstance in your life you'd like to improve.
Get in a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. Relax your body completely. Breathe slowly and deeply. Count down slowly from 10 to 1, feeling yourself getting more deeply relaxed with each count.
When you feel deeply relaxed, start to imagine the thing you want exactly as you would like it. You may imagine what people are saying, or any details that make it more real to you. You may take a relatively short time or quite a few minutes to imagine this - whatever feels best for you. It should be a thoroughly enjoyable experience, like a child daydreaming.
Now keeping the idea or image still in your mid, mentally make some very positive, affirmative statement about it. Always end your visualization with a firm statement to yourself.
If doubts or contradictory thoughts arise, don't resist them or try to prevent them. This will tend to give them a power they don't otherwise have. Just let them flow through your consciousness and return to your positive statements and images.
-----------------
Practice Visualization daily, and it works. What you should do to prepare is: Sit quietly and close your eyes. Choose the subject, situation or object you want (only one). Then make a mental image, as real as possible in your mind. Only choose one image and use it exclusively for that day or time period.
============================
For all beginners, i hope you find the above helpful. Till next time.
you must first remove your attention from the outer world. Attuning to your breathing will accomplish this goal quite easily and well. Start by getting into a comfortable position.If you tend to fall asleep when you lie down, you might consider sitting up instead. Close your eyes and relax. Put all of your attention on your breathing, noticing how it feels for the air to come in, your lungs to expand, your diaphragm to recoil. Allow your attention to follow each breath until you are just too relaxed to remember to do so any longer. Then let your
mind wander; let all thoughts of the day pass out of your mind. Know that anything important will be there later. You will continue to have thoughts drifting by, but
dont stop them and look at them, just let them go. If you forget and begin to dwell on a thought that floats by, gently remind yourself to let it go and return your attention to your breathing until your mind begins to drift off again. Sooner or later as you allow thoughts to float by unattended, you will discover moments of emptiness between thoughts. It is during these moments of profound inner stillness that our bodies and minds realign and balance themselves.
