I would like to know what made you start to do magick. The real reason and not the reason like I was born into it or was interested in magick. I would like the details and if those reasons were to answers some questions, tell me what thay were and if magick answered them, if you please. And dont be offended, all I am is just curioue.
I wanted answers in life, the ones people had given me all my life had never worked for me thus i knew there had to be more, something else, something deeper where i could seek and find my own answers, so i entered the craft and never looked back, for me the craft is about the souls growth and expansion and reaching states of nirvana, things like abilitiesare just an added extra which comes along when you break through your own mental doors trying to reach nirvana, and in that most people lose sight of what they are actually looking for and become powermad, powermad people get a bit much at times, what's even worse is kids wishing they could be powermad.
I went through a really rough patch for a few years, a couple of years ago and I'm still going through a rough time now.
I lost my grandad when I was 9, I did used to be a Christian, but I started to question my beliefs as I got older. I couldn't understand why things happend like that. People dying etc. Considering the fact that the church and my parents made out that their God could stop everything. I was forced into Sunday school too, and they also preached this.
After a lot of soul searching, I found and came across this which suits me just fine.
It's a way of life for me more than anything, and it also gives me the strength to carry on even when I feel like giving up.
i am English and when i was little hymns and nativities were still sung and performed in school and prayers were said in assembly and i have always struggled to believe in christianity. my family also struggle to believe it but celebrate christmas anyway, like a lot of british people. i have always been drawn to magic and the paranormal and meditation but only started learning and researching when i moved out of my parents house a couple years ago. i find it all fastinating and immeadiately felt a connection with wicca and witchcraft. well thats my story!!
The real reason.. well because I am awesome.. but besides that.. I was inculcated into this atmosphere, I being surrounded since the beginning.. so... I actually do not have a reason, but I practice magick to satisfied my selfish ways.
i have a very similar view on "majik" to Kao, that it is about growing and learning but also about living life to compliment your surroundings. yes, powers and abilities, come with what you learn to unlock within yourself.and this can only be done through understanding and growth. i was taught how to clean my chakras and refresh my energies from the universe when i was a little girl (my mom is very cool) and from a young age, my mom taught us about all religions so we would not be blinded by any specific one. we were told that we were in charge of our own lives, we could believe what we wanted, as long as we kept our energies clean and our home safe from negativity, bad things cant happen. and i just took that concept and took it far beyond what my mother ever saw for herself.
