An odd question?

Kind of... Also, you should be more respectful. Some people may believe in the mythological Vampires and you may offend them by saying you find it quite ridiculous. If I came here and said "I do believe in mythological Vampires and I find it quite ridiculous for people to not believe in them" someone, would gag me, because I'd be a "fluff"... They don't gag you because you believe they are non-sense but you understimade others's opinions no matter who those can be (according to the "rules" this shouldn't happen with anyone...).

Now..back to your question. Those are claimed to be energetic beings who feed off by the energy of others beings. Personally, I don't believe it's exactly like that. Because think, those are called to be low-vibrational entities. But anyways, if those entities got stronger and stronger by feeding from others's people energy and emotions they would have gone way too strong and the balance would be interupted.

there are some spells, and even psychic abilities people can develop to drain one's energy.
in my experience, simple signs would be having a dark aura, tho not all people with dark Aura have to be psychic vampires (actually, very few of them are).
if you practice visualization and energy manipulation enough, you can use that ability as well.
for example, if you know what (grounding) is, then just think of someone who would ground on other people, simple as that.
