Scrying is using a spell to see what is going on somewhere that you can't see like the other side of the world. It can also be used for future telling. Basically you just burn incense, pray, and stare into a bowl of oil.
Scrying is a way of foretelling the future using a crystal ball or other reflective object or surface. And there are many different ways to scry as other posters have said. :)
Scrying or Gazing is a one of the many ways to 'divine' or see the future. There are many ways to scry. You can use a Black Mirror, Tea Leaves or Coffee Grinds, Cloud, Smoke, Fire, Water, Crystal Ball etc. For more info on the practice and use of scrying I suggest you check this sites:
Divine is a word that relates to a deity or "god".
As others have stated there are many forms of scrying. When you scry you are gazing into an object while opening your third eye to "see" the unknown. There are many things that one can scry into such as but not limited to; any liquid, any flame, smoke, cloud, a crystal ball, a mirror, leaves, or dirt.
Meditation aids in scrying since it is a type of meditative state that one takes while scrying for the unknown. The trance or gaze that one does opens the third eye wider to help focus in on the questions that one wishes to answer. As with anything practice of this skill will improve your success rate.
sorry lol but scrying technically refers to the act of using any sort of divination which requires continuous visual attentiveness to the point were visions come to you with either the aid of ritual or not. Scrying thus technically includes crystal gazing using black mirrors owls of oil e.t.c. however when you begin to use clouds in divination,or other naturally occuring phenomenon or objects which your not essentialy just sitting and staring at your either dealing with a mancy, such as hydromancy, pyromancy e.t.c which is much more closely related to observing omens, or directly observing something and interpreting there meaning based on whaat is viewed.
