Good post. Not exactly accurate, but near enough! Here in England we never had bonfires at Beltane. Dances, yes! Especially the fertility dances around the Maypole. It is the first of May. The birthday of Flora, the Goddess of Spring, when "all the world bursts into bloom".

Bonfires we certainly had at Yule! It is the origin of the Yule log that was to burn for twelve days.
