Hexing for fun

It has come to my attention that black magick tends to be a spreading trend with the young generation. How ever they tend to shy away and almost rebuke white magick. First of all i must say to readers we know magick truly has no colour, i am quite tired of hearing this. We use the terms white black and so on to tell a difference.

going back to the matter at hand, the earth's negative energy level has risen due to the use of evil craft, too much young people are using magick for the wrong reason and forgetting the true path of a witch.

all they care about now is themselves only and who gets in their way, many misuse their power and hex innocent people for fun!
only for their amusement, i am not coming against anyone here on this site, i am stating the point of dark arts usage and misuse of spells.

i urge the good few to repair the damage that is being done and teach the new witches of this era that with this power we have a responsibility not to infringe on any person's will or cause chaos.

we should be happy to help another person and bring joy to their lives. so please lets not give witches any more bad names, lets not revive the Salem witch trials.

I am noticing this too and the sheer amount of "noobs" coming here seeking very negative results from magick just baffles me. It is so disgustingly selfish and petty. I know life and magick can't always be sunshine and lollipops, but c'mon... grow up. Rise above the mess and aim for something greater. There will always be negativity in life, I know; it's just scary what a magnet this place can be for people who think they know what they're messing with when they have absolutely no idea... coupled with a lack of willingness to hear another side of the story.

Sorry, read this in a bad mood and had to reply.

Because you class cursing and hexing people as evil does it mean it is so for everyone else? No, or do you think yourself above everyone else and thus able to tell them what is evil and what is good? I severely hope not. "using magick for the wrong reason and forgetting the true path of a witch." You say that as if you can tell people what is right and what is wrong. Cursing is wrong only if you see it as thus, wrong is subjective. As for the true path of a witch, I think you might have meant Wiccan there. Because you feel the true path of a witch is that of working "white" magick does not mean it is, someone may follow the cliche idea that a witch curses people who piss them off, thus, the true path for them is cursing at will.

Philosophy's all good, but not when matters like these are concerned. The point is that kids are using magick irresponsibly, and they need to slow down and think.

thank you callum well said, maybe people should get some comprehension skills before posting rubbish asking me i think i am above others.

wrong is wrong and right is right, there are morals and values which we must follow so the statement i see many times "there is no right and wrong" is just an excuse to pacify wrong actions.

I think a LOT of youngun's are looking for a "quick fix" to their lives, and think magic (either positive or negative, cursing or helping) is the way to do it.

I always say, Mundane before Magical.

They should learn to work through their problems the way everyone has to--talking, actions, thinking. Not just casting spells willy-nilly.

Actually, the ideas of a "morality" system in magic is a NEW phenomenon brought on by Neo-Pagan and Wiccan religions. Any concept of an age-old "Harm None" prohibition is pure revisionism. No such tenant exisits in ancient (or modern) indigenious magical systems outside of the said Neo-Paganism/Wicca.

Magic has traditionaly been some of the only available recourses for the down-trodden to effect change in their lives, and therefore was used for a myriad of practical purposes (many of these considered "black magic" or coercive in nature): getting a mate, keeping a mate faithful, destroying your enemies or rendering them impotent, gaining and keeping the upperhand, money workings, etc.

In this sense, magic has - if anything - become more "ethical" because before Neo-Pagan/Wiccan magic, there was no such thing as the Rule of Three or the Harm None prohibition. It is a modern dogma developed only several decades ago.

Of course i don't condone people slapping curses on each other willy-nilly, but really, people have been doing such since the beginnings of time.

LdyGry: I wanted to add something to that affect, but couldn't word it correctly, so thank you! :) You said what I was thinking.

And I totally agree...I utilize magic every day in my life, and have no issues with people using magic. But if teens come to rely on it too heavily (especially hexing just to "get their way" all the time), it can have negative effects (like, lack of social skills).

I am young.
I use 'evil' magic.
I currently have no personal morals.
I simply balance my magick.
Taking the advantage of negative energy, it doesn't have to be cursing someone, or doing something to put ill will upon another.
The 'negative' can be used to help 'positive' morale aswell.
I can admit that alot of younger 'black magic' users are.. Not the brightest crayons in the box when it comes to the practice..
Its nice to balance out the negative and positive, it keeps my sanity and my mind at peace.
