Start with four white candles. Position them into a circle, pointing in the four directions. After focusing your energy into your intent and what you want to achieve, chant: " On my birthday I have a wish. Allow me to achieve this birthday gift. Let (desire) come to be. As this desire comes true, I wish to see. By my birthday and the power of three- it is my will so mote it be". Extinguish the candles.

As you wave the sage, say: "I wave this sage and have faith in its spirit's power. With this sage, I make this dwelling safe. With this sage, I repel all dark and negative forces. May the spirit of this sage dwell within this place".
