Sorry for the ghetto like title. The question is from the day of the human race came to existence why did people made up spells, whether magical or not magical? Was it a theory just like religion or was it the vivid of imagination that is left in fantasy? Who knows.

I would have taken a more convenient route and search for articles regarding magic, but I like discussions, so please lay out your views.
