I was out walking in the woods this morning and I came across a Great Crested Flycatcher who obviously not afraid on me in the slightest. He would perch on a branch a foot or two away from me and then after a few seconds he would fly strait at me. I thought I might be too close to his nest (which I could not see) so I kept walking but he followed me. He kept flying towards me and once even nipped my ear. Has anyone had any experience with Flycatchers or a related species? I know that small birds like that can be messengers of the dead and especially around this time of year I think that that is quite possible. Thanks in advance.
