I'm in Arizona (Western USA) and in the quest for finding a relatively straight piece of wood I decided on using a section of a Yucca flowering stalk. Its not exactly wood like it doesn't have a tradition 'grain' but tightly packed individual fibers. (Makes it so easy to carve) I have been using a Yucca stalk I cleaned up as a healing staff and it hasn't really presented odd properties other than when I charge it at my altar I can put my hand at one side and it will slight push down and at the other side push up, not sure how unique that is though. Now that I am making a wand will it have any unique properties making it better at some jobs and bad at others? All answers are appreciated!
