There are numerous tools and methods that practitioners have used for different things. That's a pretty broad statement though so in this post I'm going to break down on that topic and discuss vibrations and sounds and how they correlate with magic and spell working.

The Bell and Piano

The first tool that comes to mind when I think about vibrations and magic is the bell. Long has it been used for multiple purposes, though in this concept they can be commonly used for driving negative forces away, cleansing, etc. This is done by visualising the vibrations, or sounds, as having something behind it. For example if you're dealing with a nasty spirit, you might go around your house ringing a bell and with every tinkle you can see your intent coming true.

I have several bells that I use, though I've developed my own type of magic that can accomplish the same thing as bells. I've kept it simple and called it piano magic. Now I've been playing just over twleve years but I've never had a lesson in my life. I play anywhere from three to ten times a day, and nine times out of ten I've never played that tune before. I started doing some thinking on how I could involve my piano with my practices and rituals, and here's what I came up with:

When you hit a key on the piano, a piece of wood taps a chord in the piano and it produces a sound. The chords go from very thin to quite thick (a couple centimeters). I use different sets of chords for different purposes. I'll use the thinner chords for things like getting the attention of a deity that I've worked with before. Something soft, light, but also with some complexities involved. When I'm doing wardings for my house, I'll weave a spell with the thicker cords to set up a general ward, one that's supposed to be stronger than the rest of my ward, kind of like a foundation. As I carry on I'll begin to mix in thinner chords with thicker chords, this creates a mix of good and evil the way I visualise it. I use this particular method for my warding because it has confused entities in the past and driven them away, but it also allows for breaks in the warding so that a distressed spirit with good intent can enter my home if it needs help I can offer it.

I think out of all the tools I have and use for my practices, my piano is the one I turn to and use the most. I'm always trying to further develop ways in which I can more efficiently practice my magic. So far I've used my piano for summonings, banishings, healings, wardings, cleansings, cursings, and I'm usually sending some good or bad luck to people who I encounter throughout the day.

I thought I'd share this with the coven.
