These are easy, but some people may not know them. Here are some easy ways to increase the effectiveness of every spell.

1. Meditate before doing the spell, while meditating focus on seeing your spell succeed, focus on the outcome you want.

2. Have something representing each element on your altar and call to the elements when you do your spell, ask them to lend you their energies.
A cup of water works for water, candles for fire, incense for air, and crystals, salt, or sand for earth.

3. Purify your space before and after the spell, this can be done with a sage bundle, sweetgrass, or just incense, it involves moving the smoke around and letting it sweep over things, purifying them with its touch. Purify yourself as well, if you'd like.

4. Cast a circle and make sure to undo it when you are done. Typically I cast my circle clockwise, beginning and ending at the same point, and then release it by going counterclockwise, starting and ending at the same point once again.
What you say while casting the circle is up to you, it can be cast with a wand, athame, or your finger even. Just point around you and draw an imaginary circle, stating that no harmful energy, spirits, etc may exist inside.

5. Have a pentacle on your altar, or wear one. It helps to have a firm representation of the elements as well as something from each.


6. Keep crystals nearby, they amplify the energy of spells if you draw from them.

6b. Candles also give your spell a lot of energy.


7. Inscribe your candles with letters or runes for success, well being, love, prosperity, whatever you wish for in your work. Runes are incredibly powerful magickal tools.
