How to mourn?
By:
My manager died this week. He was more than that, though. He was a good man and a good friend. I need to find a good spell or ritual I can do to represent life passing on, yet it continues on, too. Something that's fitting for a good man who did good deeds, who is deeply loved as a friend, husband, father.

R.I.P. MF. You're severely missed already.

I am so sorry to hear that. It is always tragic to lose people in your life. There are many cultures who honor the dead in many different ways and it might be best for you to do some digging on how people do it.

I try to be very simple. If someone in my life dies, I light a white candle out of respect for the person. Lighting the white candle, to me, is showing acknowledgment of that person.I also do this on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.

A simple ritual such as lighting a candle is one way of honoring the passing of a good man.

But I like to do something a bit more concrete as a way to pass on a blessing in the future. If he died of something such as cancer or heart disease you might consider donating to one of the foundations that seeks to find better treatments for those diseases. You could consider donating blood as a way of passing on your life force to help others as a way of honoring his life. When my aunt died recently we sent donations to the local animal shelter in her name (She had been a regular supporter.). Were there any charities he supported? Consider donating time or money to one of those in his name.

Thoughts and prayers are lovely, but you might think about ways in which the good this man did in his life is brought forward by your own actions.
