Lack of purpose
By:

Recently I've been applying for jobs, seeking new interests, trying new meditations, all of the works. All to find why I'm on this earth. It's extremly agitating, I know I have a reason why I came here but what is it exactly? I kept getting "Healer, explorer, companion, teacher." Repleying to every time I ask the universe. I'm just blatantly confused about it. Any insight or advice? I can't buy anything so, please no suggestions for herbs or spells.

I'd usually say go somewhere, like a sort of pilgrimage. Somewhere out of your comfort zone where you've never been...But we know that's not exactly easy to do right now. One thing I can say though, is let go. Forcing it won't help. Answers tend to come in their own time, often randomly. See it this way...If you're thinking intensely about something, it's like all your thoughts get stuck in a bottleneck. There's too much trying to get through at once, and the result is none of them getting through at all. It's daunting, but trust that the answer will present itself.

We are all living through difficult times, what with the pandemic. I think many of us are struggling. I would suggest looking into Mindfulness Meditations. You can find information on how to practice this at https://www.mindful.org/mindfulness-how-to-do-it/

And there are some excellent guided Mindfulness Meditations at these sites:

I would also recommend any materials by these two practitioners:

Thich Nhat Hanh - https://thichnhathanhfoundation.org/meditate

Jon Kabat Zinn - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2efOoRF_pw

I can absolutely empathise with how you feel. I have spent a long time feeling entirely directionless, save for a vague idea to 'help people'. Helping in what way... I still have no specific idea.

I have come to think that perhaps the act of finding a path is, in essence, what my path has become this time around. It is like I had a path, once upon a time, but that path has either reached some sort of conclusion in a past life (for those who believe in such a thing), or reached some sort of critical dead-end that made me hit the reset button. So, I have been spending this life in essence trying to figure out what I want to do with myself.

So far it has resulted in a lot of drifting and searching. And a lot of started projects that may never finish. But also a lot of learning from many disparate sources. And, despite not knowing in what way I am meant to help people for many years, when I sit and look back on myself I come to realize how I have indeed been helping people all along. In many small ways.

A bit of sound advice here, a random idea there, a sympathetic ear for a friend, a word of encouragement to a random stranger on the internet. Sometimes helping in an intangible, emotional, or spiritual way. Sometimes in a physical way too. And, without realizing it I had been walking this path of helping people all along. Just without any single, specific method.

You might gain similar insights if you shift your attention. Instead of trying to observe the instincts and goals as something for your future that you need to somehow try to find, look towards your past. Look back over the last few years and consider in what ways you have already been making the very journey you are looking for. Imagine yourself as already a healer, and look back to see where you have gained experiences. Look at times you have taught as if already a teacher. Find times when you have already discovered new things.

And bear in mind that healing is more than medicine or reiki- Maybe even ponder on the meaning of healing. Exploring is more complex then seeking new landscapes- More often it rests in having new eyes. And teaching is done in many ways besides through lessons or a classroom- Teaching by example, for example. (Word play intentional)

@Spirit76

I often look back to find my purpose to be on earth but tend to get frustrated with my result I get.

I know in a past incarnation I was both a teacher and a healer in one. However, I now have been feeling like my emotions have been pushing away my purpose becuase I see my purpose on earth as "lame" or pathetic.

I want to help the world and help as many human beings I possibly can. I do really want to make an impact but I don't know how it what good i can do to kick start helping, ya know?

Thank you for everyone who responded.

If I understand correctly, it seems like a matter of scale. You are wanting to push yourself to accomplish more, on a grander scale than one person at a time. That is indeed both tricky, and worthy as a goal.

Many people resort to writing, if they can manage it. Putting together a book is a challenge in and of itself, but it gives the chance to create a body of information and ideas that can be spread to many people at a time.

A similar platform would be youtube, if visual stuff is more your jam. You could work on doing something like mister beast (who is actually pretty darn cool), or just put out a weekly vlog-style discussion on various topics and just put information out for people to find.

I am a fan of axioms, little sayings with broad meaning. One such phrase is 'many are called, few are chosen.' ...Though I have personally changed it to 'Many are called, few make the choice'. Because while many people feel the urge to do many things, the ones who succeed are those who hit the inevitable realization of how much effort is involved, and decide the work is worth it and push on. While those who aren't committed beyond whimsy stop because the effort becomes 'not worth it', so they give up.

One question may not be 'what can I do', but instead 'what feels worth it to commit'. If you can look at a path before you, see the goal at the end, and also the bramble and barriers on the trail that you are having to fight through but -still- want it, then you may have your answer.

I do have that high ambition to help a ton of people, as I see only helping a small handful of people wasnt enough for me.

I was thinking of writing a book, and mabye a handful of books. I just have the issue of wanting to do many different topics at once. I have 8 major topics at the moment that I eant to write about. So, all is kinda messy right now.

As for YouTube, I would love to create animated or "visual" learning type videos. However, YouTube is not that great of a platform for repressing free speech and it's anti conservative. I do want to make (Eventually) a mini comedic type education animations as well. Sorta like Sam-O-Nella academy type stuff.

Just so many ideas, it sometimes is like a headache.

So, you need guidance in life and to realise your purpose.
Firstly , i suggest don't seek that guidance from your mind . You may only get confused as mind is prone to overthinking . Seek that guidance from your heart . Get in tune with your inner feelings and decide how you want help others . This was for guidance .
Now, how can you realise your purpose?
For this i suggest a deity meditation.
Go to a quiet place .Get into a meditative state and try to ground yourself . When you feel that you are completely grounded and focused , concentrate on a guiding deity . I prefer to seek Buddha's help in this case , but you can channel other such deities too. Call out to the deity for help . Keep repeating your question in your mind . Be careful about what pops into your mind . Deities often answer in this way . This meditation does not need much planning . Just go with the flow. You may find your answers this way .
Hope this helps you!
Blessed be!
