Okay so basically i'm just gonna share a shortened version of this story.
so it was about 2 years ago, i had been laying in bed and decided to astral project. when i was doing it then, i was learning how to do it pretty well so i just went through my house and into my backyard. It was night at the time and that was the same in my astral plane. so, i went to my backyard, and then i got this horrible feeling of dread, so i immediately got myself out of the astral projection.
from then on I continued to have really strange experiences all focused around one thing. i kept seeing this same "man," tall and entirely black like a shadow, or a void. I would see him in dreams and other astral projections. He tormented me, and i say he because it's energy felt so strongly bruting and masculine, for at least year and then i somehow managed to distance myself from it. I do, however, still have dreams and experiences where i see him for a moment or i feel his presence.
so if anyone has had a similar experience, or could help explain, or something like that please do!
It’s possible that it might’ve been an evil or dark entity, which can drain your energy or can cause you physiological harm, but you have to experience fear for them to drain your energy.

further update: so i posted that the other day bc i started thinking about it again, and any time I start think about it I start to feel it lurking like i brought it back or whatever.
So slightly grim story, my neighbor died in her home about a year ago or so. and I was outside just kind of calling to her to see if she was still there. and then i noticed tonight that the basement light in her home (which is and has been vacant since) was on. and like all people, I called the cops. they checked and found nothing. so it could've been her. But i feel like it's very oddly strange timing, and i definitely feel like could be manifesting this dark entity or whatever you want to call it in the form of my neighbor. Like it's choosing that to more easily access me or something. So if someone could tell me if i'm just being paranoid or what.
I will try to stop and fear I feel, and hopefully by doing so I can cut off its energy supply.
I dont think that your just being paranoid. Remember one thing: Never. Ignore. Your. Gut. Feeling. Believe me, that’s a lesson I learned the hard way, so it’s better to be safe than sorry. Try some protection spells or rituals, maybe they could help.
Honestly fear is natural and not something you need to push away, just overcome to the point it doesn't scare you any longer. You must understand though, as already mentioned these type of "creatures" thrive on attention and fear. By giving it attention, you will give it an opportunity to show you 'fear'. What did it look like, any distinguishing features? I bring this up because there's a rather famous(and imo rather common by now) sighting of someone called the 'shadow man' or the 'top-hat man' who does exactly what you're describing. Also, one thing I always make clear to people: Everyone likes to emphasize a point about so-called 'haunted places' however even the specialists tend to forget about our beloved planet's age haha - there's probably numerous ghosts or similar entities just about everywhere, or at the very least: it's very easy to contact spirits under the right conditions everywhere on earth. Even churches are no exceptions, trust me on that. X]
Something new could be impersonating her to scare you - almost like a 'new shadow man' or it could have actually followed you home, seeing as you're afraid of it, thinking about it and a great food source for it. If you have a specific faith or religion then I would honestly suggest looking into its protective techniques. They definitely exist everywhere, in the form of protection spells, energy barriers, repelling or sealing spells/chants/mantras, talismans, psychic shields etc. Even praying to your god or goddess/patron or matron deity for help with an offering works fine as well.
If you don't have a specific 'faith' 'belief' and are either a skeptic or an atheist...the placebo effect can actually work wonders. Even if you aren't a skeptic, finding an object to put your faith in can help immensely with your confidence and your body's natural defenses(Even more so if the object is "Blessed" or contains natural protective properties like a cross or crystal). Please remember though that Astral Projection is both fascinating and dangerous.
Yeah I actually came across the "Hatman" when i was trying to figure out what it was that I saw. And that's probably the closest description of it that I can give.
It was tall, very masculine energy, negative energy too, it felt old if that makes sense, however my one drawback from calling it the "hatman" was that I am not 100% sure if i remember a hat or not.
Honestly, i have experience something quite similar before. What i would do for you is protection, cleansing negative energy, and all that. I would do it n ot as a spell, but with herbs. Herbs tend to work great against negativity. That is the best advice i can give you.
