Visionlike Dream
By:
2 nights ago i had a very vivid dream. I was standing on the porch flipping through a light brown leather bound book. The pages were made of thick silk, and i could feel them beneath my fingers. the book was written in a combination of 2 languages, with some passages in English and some in a Semitic script unknown to me (Hebrew, Ge'ez, etc).

I closed the book, and it looked like the title was on a piece of paper that had been taped on, but the paper was missing, only a corner of it with 2 Semitic characters remained. It was at this point that i woke up.

Any thoughts?

It's really up to you, and what you believe in and how you feel about it. Dreams could be just dreams, something that comes and goes in one life. Dreams could also be link in your life and your craft, if you are searching for past lives then it might be a sign of a past life you may have. If vidi dreams are new to you, than maybe it's something to look into ludic dreaming.

If you are taking any form of education that is new in your life, than the book could be symbolic that you are on the right path. If your new to witchcraft than the book might be a symbolic to your Book of Shadows, which you may chose to form later in life. It might also just be a change in your life that may effect you, flipping the pages of a book it might just be you are in a new chapter of your life. A place that may hold a little bit of fear, since you don't know what's coming and yet there's awe in new information that you may be waiting to read on.

Paper missing might be symbolic of hesitation in taking the education that has been offered to you, waking up that moment is a pause in your life as you may be questioning your life choices. Again it depends on you and how you feel about your own dream and what they mean to you. Maybe they might have some symbolic meaning in your waking life, or maybe they might just be background noise.

I believe this would fall more towards a vision rather than a dream, simply because you were able to decipher the languages in the book and you cannot read when you are dreaming. While your brain is functional when you are sleeping, there are areas of it that an not active or in a sense, switched off. The Wernickeand Broca areas, which are responsible for understanding language arenearly non-functional while you are asleep. Sometimes even speaking is difficult.

Most dreams you have, if you think about it, are images and actions, not so much talking and speaking. If there is any speaking or reading, you are recalling this information already from your subconscious memories. So it isn't happening right there and then. (meaning you aren't responding with answers or words to the action occurring in your dreams) With this information I would look into things you may have read recently or researched. By having this information show up in your dream (the two languages) it could mean that is where your subconscious is focused on and you should explore it more when you are awake, as it seems your brain enjoys this information.

I wouldn't say the dream has no significance, but it would be cause for further exploration into Semitic script. Depending on your beliefs, perhaps this was a crucial language to you in a past life and your subconscious spirit has held or trained it somehow.

Good luck!
