Sleeping spells

Hey everyone, I need some help. My boyfriend literally cannot sleep and he's been awake for almost a week straight. It isn't due to drugs(I checked) and he doesn't believe in magic... I was wondering if anyone knows any spell I can use on him to make him sleep? Please help I'm really worried about his health and well being. We've already tried western medicine but nothing is working..

The first thing he needs to do is to see a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders. Not being able to sleep is not only annoying but not good for his health. He needs an evaluation to determine what is causing his inability to sleep.

In addition to seeking medical help (a few days without sleep can cause permanent brain damage; act fast), there are some things he can do to help improve sleep habits:

  • Setting a bed time with adequate hours to rest
  • Setting an alarm, even on days off
  • Naps, if attempted, should always have an alarm, and time limits strictly followed (coffee naps are very effective for a lot of people to improve alertness)
  • Naps cannot be taken too close to bed time
  • Eliminating mental distractions too close to bed. This means things like social media, Internet browsing, staring at any sort of a screen. This includes putting down video games. Reading is good.
  • Light 'temperature' (shade of white) can be very important to someone's sleep habits. A less blue light helps set the brain into "not daylight" mode.
  • Dimming lights closer to bed (bedside lamps in stead of overhead lighting)
  • Not eating too close to bed time: Two hours is a minimum. Four hours is better.
  • Not consuming alcohol too close to bed. It may seem a sedative at first, but after a few hours, the chemicals alcohol is metabolized into become a stimulant
  • Being very mindful of side-effects of any medications (I know you said drugs are not a factor, but it still stands to be said)
  • Limit caffeine at least four hours before sleep
  • If anything is sipped, it should not contain sugar. There are non-sugar sweeteners available, and many tisanes (herbal tea; I'm picky about the term, as tea is Camelia sinensis specifically) contain no alcohol.
  • Even if he does not sleep this is very important, so I will repeat Even if he does not sleep it is vital to go to bed, and observe bed time to the waking alarm, as if he is sleeping. At the absolte very least, it will be physical rest. this will:
    • establish a rest schedule, with or without sleep
    • train his brain to settle down in this time frame
    • encourage a mindset that this time is not for physical activity

Some somewhat more magic-related advice is that he needs to keep a journal. I know he is not a fan of magic, but this is a practice which began connected to magic, and became a part of psychoanalysis. After more than twenty-four hours, waking hypagogic hallucinations become a risk, as the person's brain is basically screaming for its own time. These things should be recorded as they happen, at least as closely as possible. If he does fall asleep and have a dream, the dream should be recorded as well. It is a window into the subconscious. If there is some circumstance keeping him from sleep, the dreams may help find an answer. For example, if he starts seeing his boss out of the corner of his eye, it could very well be work stress. The same, if he manages to drift off, and dreams of his family; family stress may be a factor, and perhaps he is worried that his lack of sleep may affect his relationships with his family.

While analysis may help find answers, there may be more going on behaviorally. The above list may not be feasible to follow completely, but to keep some things in mind. A medical professional can help more than most things. There may be a legitimate problem, and there may be an issue of training the brain in a sense. I would not discount one over the other.
