Here I am a middle aged grandma starting out on a new journey. Heres my story.... raised in very conservative church, continued with that feeling totally out of place. Stopped the nonsense 3 years ago, moved to the country and discovered an attachment to nature and water in particular. Something made me investigate the term white witch and I realized it fits me to a t. Shared with my husband and found out he always felt he was a warlock and his first wife was into witchcraft and reading fortunes. I did not know.... seems too much of a coincidence to ignore.
So, here I am delving into this very diverse world and not knowing where to start. Any advice would be helpful.
Ok, so I have started reading some of the newbie threads and realized I am not supposed to ask for advice. Will return with specific questions at a later date.
Many people are new to the craft, magic, and pagan and occult traditions. Many people inquire about learning magic and the craft and have little to no knowledge of where to get started and frequently ask in the chatter and the forums what to do or where to start. It can often times be annoying for more experienced members to have to repeatedly explain things over and over to new members and practioners etc. There is also a plethora of books and resources containing vast amounts of information on magic and various pagan and occult subjects, all you need to do is look or search for them using strategic research methods such as being specific in your search terms etc.
Not trying to be argumentative. This may have been written a long time ago. Thank you for clarifying.
Oh! That comes with a brief explanation of what the basics are since we get a lot of people asking what they are, what to do, etc. But by no means that means you are forbidden to seek advice or ask questions about doubts you might have. The SoM survival guide was written well, to be a guide. But it does state at the bottom "The information contained here is to be interpreted and used at your own convenience and is not an official doctrine or manual ".
After all, no one would go nowhere if they had unanswered questions all the time. As long as you follow the rules, you are more than free to seek advise. If you want to understand the basics further, read the pinned threads here:
