I used to think that the more stars a spell has the better, but now I know that isn't the case. Is there any way to tell for certain which spells work or not? This could be a problem for it may lead to potential spell casters to lose faith in their magical talents, and we can't have that!
Spells are more of a means of putting your energy out into the universe to gain a magickal response, it is more important that you are able to do that, than it is for the spell to be "working", as in reality, it is you that is doing the petition, not the spell.
That being said, your request has to be realistic, and that's the biggie, if it sounds too good to be true, then more often than not, it is. It's all about common sense; if a spell promises to give you wings, then it's definitely fake, some spells are more deceptive, a spell to make you win the lottery sounds more promising but in reality, everyone would be doing that spell it if was real.
Understanding why magick works, and how we can achieve a magickal result is the big thing that's ideal to do before even looking at spells. Once someone has a basic grasp of how and why it works, they can understand what is and is not possible a lot easier and even begin coming up with their own functional spells based on this knowledge.
If in doubt, take pre-made spells with a pinch of salt until you have done research on what magick can and cannot do, and then feel free to alter spells to make them more realistic and suitable to your requirements.
One thingabout spells that not many new spellcasters don't understand or know of is that spells take time. Some spells take hours well some might even take years not only that but you also have to be working to the goal you're trying to achieve. Make sure you also understand that the spell must berealistic.
Agree with this statement. It's like learning to walk before learning to run. The spell has to create the right cirumstances for the desired result to manifest. For example, if you do one to make someone move closer to you, ask yourself where will they live, work, etc?
