1) You need to be more specific but I'd go with luck, chance, & it wasn't your time.
2) A lot of people have crazy dreams sometimes brought on by stress, anxiety, worries, subconscious fears, etc... This isn't necessarily magick related.
3 & 4) This is all based on your personal preference. There are many pre-defined paths and many people who walk their own unique paths. There is also no specific path necessarily devoted to those of Irish heritage but if that's your interest you could look into Celtic based practices.
