Wicca in Practice
By: / Beginner
Yo, yo, yo! I'm back, with more problems than ever!! (just kidding. kinda.)

So I took a little bit of a break from Wicca, to study, learn and explore other beliefs, and I'm just wondering how to move back into practice again. How do I build a rapport with the God and Goddess again? What should I do to prepare for my Wiccan rebirth? And how do I turn from being a person with a broad knowledge of charts and dates and correspondences to an actual, practicing Wiccan again?

regarding the deities, think of it like old friends who moved, you guys stopped talking for a bit, but you just bumped into them again and want to start chatting/hanging more, what would you do? send them a text daily/weekly, set up days to hang out, perhaps their birthday rolls around and you get them a gift. the deities are the same way. say a little prayer before you leave the house to check in with them, have a circle on the esbat or sabbat as a way to spend time with them, and leaving offerings of things you found is a nice way to show you care [they don't have to be expensive, i usually pick up things on my nature walks]

if you wish to learn how to incorporate Wicca into your every day life, it's basically about mindfulness, but for ideas you could check out The Goddess is in the Details and Everyday Witchcraft [both by Deborah Blake] for some ideas. [when you have a shower you can do a cleansing too, when you clean your room you could visualize sweeping away negative energy, when you cook, be mindful of the magickal properties of the herbs you use, and be sure to stir clockwise to bring good things towards you. little tricks] trust me, there's nothing wrong being a book witch, it's just figuring out little ways to apply that knowledge, and it comes from mindfulness which later forms habits. best of luck to you.
