They show themselves to you in your minds eye, they are higher entities who travel on a different plane of existence which is overlapped onto ours, if or when they feel you are ready or have done it for the right reasons they will choose to reveal themselves to you, trying to force it will only make them turn from you completely.

Dragon summoning is a skill that takes time to master. At first you will see them with your third eye. Remeber that dragons can change their size at will. You could be dealing with a creature about the size of a cat or it could be as big as a two story house. They do like to play so they could change their size without warning.
