Creating your own tarot

Greetings all.

I have used the tarot over the years and have scryed the major arcana to explore there meanings, but I find any deck I use, doesnt feel right or doesnt speak to me. The only premade deck which has, is the Lovecraft tarot but due to it being out of print and very expensive to buy I'm not going to be geeting one. So realising that getting one of those is out of my reach I have decided to make my own.

So as anyone else on the site created there own tarot deck? And if so how long did it take and what was the inspiration behind the images?

Blessed be LadyO

I created my own Tarot and sell it limited and expensive. You can get inspiration everywhere! Walking by a river, sleeping, brushing your teeth, however, not every inspiration is suitable. Sometimes I have many inspirations, but I cannot create a images that far far away from the original meaning. Although you can create any image of the tarot, but at least you must remain a part of the origin.

Honestly, your Tarot will be more obey with you if you created them. I know this and I have many years of experiences in this. LadyO are you creating your own tarot? If you need any help feel free to PM me.

You can buy Tarot to. But you said that it is vert expensive? You are right. But there are many that still very cheap. I like to buy Tarot, even though it is very expensive. Actually limited is better because not many people have it.

Creating a Tarot can takes 1 hour or 10 years. Depends. Sometimes I can create 3 Tarot decks in 10 hours. But none of them I like it. If you want to create one right now, try a Tarot image without color. Just draw it briefly and see whether you like it or not, if you dislike it, just throw and reject it. Try a new one.

Remember, Tarot will only like you if you like them. You can also create a black beautiful cloth, to wrap the tarot. Why I asked you to use black color? Because black is in the middle, and it is not belongs to any element or energy.

I hope these will help you LadyO.

Thankyou for your reply clement! Very well put. So far I have done some pencil images of "the fool". They imagary in the deck is going to be quite dark but then i am creating a deck for myself to use.

I've tried the pre-made decks and i find i cant use them. The cards to do not speak to me. The only one which does is the H.P lovecraft deck based on the whole cthulu mythos and such. But alas due to its price, it a bit out of my reach lol.

I will give you a pm if i get stuck. What types of materials do you use to make yours(well the finished version).

Thanks and blessed be LadyO

Some hard paper like those that sold in market. Actually I think that limited edition Tarot won't be very expensive. How much the Tarot you want that sold in your country? Hey you are left-hander right? I think maybe you are a very creative person, I'm not lol, but I can be creative when I want to create a Tarot. Honestly, I seldom use my own Tarot deck that created by myself, I use to buy them in market or bookstore.

Ive read somewhere that you can use the tarot to see what the results of a spell youll cast will be before you cast it. If it will back fire or work or how it will benefit you, is this true?

Of course Tarot can tell you. However, if you are not good enough in Tarot, I suggest you not to try it because it will give you a wrong answer. Just cast the spell, you don't need to ask Tarot, the only one you need to ask is yourself.

Not only Q about spells, Tarot gives you answer about yourself, future, good, bad, love, feeling, friendship and almost anything! Xe you can give it a try if you want, try whether it suitable you or not, if it really suit you, you can learn it as deeper as you can.

But first thing you must do is find a suitable Tarot decks. To see whether it suit you or not the most easiest way is to feel it. How to feel it? Well when you like the image, the art, the words, the design of the Tarot, and you wanna buy it, that means you like the Tarot very much and you can buy it if you want.

In my opinion, the most important way to choose a suitable Tarot is feel it. Tarot will only works perfectly if you like it and treat it like you friend. If you dislike a Tarot deck, do not buy it as you will not use it properly because you don't like it.
