Love spell during Venus retrograde?

There is a full moon this Friday, I've been inactive in the love department and I was considering casting a love spell to attract love into my life again, HOWEVER Venus is in retrograde. What are your thoughts on this? Not a good idea? Good idea for past love only?

Seeing as planetary retrogrades are merely an optical illusion, why would you think there would be an issue?
