I'd have told you to inspectthe mess for a clue. Did any signs present themselves while you worked the jar? Any form of divination that you are familiar with should work.

So the jar exploding means either: the spell worked, or the spell didn't work...

This is the funniest thing I've read all day!

Since I have no form of investment in why you did this. It could've just broken because you shoke it too hard. But it could be a sign that the spell had worked. If that is the case then be humble about, celebrate your victory. Do not boast your success.

Vivien,

I wasn't trying to come off boasting but just confirming that indeed that "explosive"/ "broken" bottle meant the end of their friendship/ relationship.

Thank you for your response.

Vinegar (Ascetic Acid) has a great many practical uses. But what gives you the idea that vinegar and a rusty nail can have any sort of "influence" on a relationship? Of course, some people will believe anything!

To completely dismiss a practice utilized by many is crossing into offensive territory. Some people believe in the help of their tools not just the power of the self.

Also, it could go either way with whether or not the explosion was a sign or not. It could depend on how long you'd been working the jar, the force with which you shook the jar, the density of the contents, etc. In order to determine one way or another, I suggest doing some further divination on the subject and watching the situation carefully.

I wasn't being offensive; merely asking a question as to why anybody would think that vinegar and a rusty nail had any influence. The history of such a belief. Who first thought of putting a rusty nail into vinegar? Vinegar, being an acid, may very well clean the rust off the nail. But what other purpose could it possibly have?

I wasnt trying to be offensive either.

I get the work, it is a hoodoo practice, but vinegar jars are well known to explode from gas building up in them. Vinegar and rusty nails, cat and dog fur, other less pleasant things...yup, those go in vinegar jars.

Shaking is "working" the jar

If the job brought success and took care of the target, im not surprised. Hoodoo is pretty effective.

I wasn;t speaking to you Thor. In Hoodoo we see the physical aspects of things and apply them in a magical way. We see the world around us and utilize it. We don't allow anything to be just an item, we find a way to utilize it. Magic isn't only herbs, sticks, and the naturaul items around you, it can be anything. People who keep an open mind to possibility find all kinds of effective methods that someone with a closed mind would never see. In our wonder and imagination we find possibility and new methods.
