Blood Moon Magick?

so this is the very first blood moon i will be experiencing, since starting out in the craft. I just wanted to know the special qualities a blood moon has (if any) on spells, what are the best spells to be doing on a blood moon? just some general witchy info on this sort of occurrence, because all my research elsewhere has only delivered sciencey stuff that has nothing to do with witchcraft! anyway that would be great! many blessings and thanks in advance...

Firstly, you might be having trouble calling it a blood moon instead of a lunar eclipse because the blood moon [not an eclipse, its the name of one of the full moons] occures every year in the fall so the confusion could mess with your research.

From what I know a lunar eclipse is a time for reflection and new beginnings. It's also a time where a lot of spirits and fae are wandering around. Spell work would be very difficult because the energy is all over the place at this point in time that grounding and energy work would be very challenging for beginners. Try a ceremony or meditate.

sorry it was to my understanding that at the time of a luna eclipse, when the moon turns red it is then called a Blood moon, well that's what my research has told me anyway. Thanks for your response!

It is, but we have 12 [sometimes 13] moons throughout the year and each one has a specific name. The one following the harvest moon is called the blood moon. If you put in 'total lunar eclipse' instead of 'blood moon' you might have better luck is all.

Unless you are in the southern hemisphere where it is autumn.
