Needs a new teacher
By:
I never was able to complete my training and or learning to become Wiccan, and I want a new teacher because my old one retired from the entire thing. I'm Zayne and I'm 14. Suggestions?

Also, if self teaching is an option, what would be the best way to self teach?

Since you are only 14 years old and you live in the USA you are going to find it nearly impossible to find any reputable teacher who would accept you as a student. That is because it is against the law in this country to interfere with the religious upbringing of a minor without the parent's consent. I'd suggest you read this article: http://www.spellsofmagic.com/read_post.html?post=556828

That being said, there is nothing to prevent you from learning on your own until you are legally an adult. You might want to start with the Wicca Basics thread here in the Wicca Forum.

I agree with Lark here. There have been many lawsuits and court cases involving people interfering with minors religious upbringings, the only way you could bypass this is as Lark has said before getting written consent from your parents or actually getting your parents involved and joining or creating a coven that is family oriented. There are a lot of good books out there to self teach yourself with, doing a Google search of Wiccan books will yield a lot of results. I will tell you the same as I tell everyone else when you read any book take it with a grain of salt and do not believe it at face value, question everything until you have meditated and asked to have it clarified and validated. Only follow what speaks to your soul and is right for you personally. Blessings and I hope this has helped

Depending your age and where you live it can be illegal for someone to teach you.
