The Master Book of Herbalism By: Paul Beyerl

Principles and Practice of Phytotherapy by Scott Mills and Medical Herbalism by David Hoffman. Both are more difficult reads but they offer more tested cures with herbal products than a lot of new aged based books.

Just a note that you may want to take Scott Cunningham's books with a pinch of salt, one of the entries under 'Apple' mentions that Unicorns love apples and you can occasionally see them under such trees munching on fruit.

I'll leave any judgment as to the veracity of that statement up to you.
