awakening a past life

I am trying to awaken a past life that used to be a witch but every time I try some thing happens like the candle light going out can't seem to figure out y. some friends of mine have awaken their past life yet I feel as if mine doesn't wish to be awakened. I need some help on awakening it that doesn't include a mirror and candle light
